The investigation of Artificial Intelligence will be prompted by this topic’s premise to consider it from both a human and an Islamic standpoint.
The ayah states that Allah is the most powerful and that we would not be able to construct anything as powerful as He does. Is it therefore conceivable to create a human brain or an equivalent in this competition? Big NO is the answer! Despite dominating many of the world’s biggest endeavors, artificial intelligence is still in many aspects significantly inferior to the human brain.
I’ll propose a theory based on the context of this ayah and the underlying science in order to offer enough evidence to support the Islamic belief that Allah is the Almighty Creator. The human race is also the world’s best creation. Something that can govern humans should be superior to humans, or more specifically, have a brain that is superior to the human brain. Then how can the human brain, or anything even superior than the human brain, be evolved to rule the globe if the development of the fly is impossible?
On the other side, data science demonstrates that human intelligence is not comparable in many ways. But Artificial intelligence still has a long way to go in terms of creativity, empathy, and agility.
Various rumors regarding people and computers have been discussed in the past. Over the past two decades, the idea that computers will someday replace people has gained popularity due to their superior processing power and ability to work independently in place of many individuals. Due to the diversity of computer science and the emergence of new directions, it was gradually refuted and still humans are integral part of any computer program. As a result, it is logical to assume that in the future, human brains will still be required to plan, create, and manage computers in accordance with their needs.
Then this question comes in our mind that even getting an example from calculator is way faster then human. It can be faster but Its all about level of information human brain can produce even while listening to the music brain processes all information on the speed which numerous GPUs would not do.
Sridhar-Mahadevan PhD in Computer science, Rutgers University says,
“AI researchers in deep learning study cartoon models of the human brain that are simply wrong at every level.”
He also states in the same paper
“If we understood the human brain, we would posses immense power, both for good, and sadly for evil as well. Perhaps that’s why nature guards her most precious secrets so carefully. Perhaps some mysteries are best left unsolved.”
Then humans are free to think creatively and beyond the box, but AI is constrained by its code and lacks that ability.
Massive amounts of data are gathered by human and processed by AI. The future state is predicted via correlation analysis and pattern observation. AI model may understand from language through tokenization and images by pixelation when given data in either image or text form. Humans, on the other hand, are able to obtain facts, analyze it independently, and make decisions based on the feelings associated with each encounter.
The famous book “Deep Learning with Python” by François Chollet elaborated on one of the sentiment analysis models that when human give positive or negative comments to any movie and if the comment is like “awfully good” or “this movie is bomb” the model will take this as something that is negative comment but actually viewer is trying to say that this is a admirable movie. Only human intellect can recognize it. There are numerous such instances of this type in which artificial intelligence falls short of human intelligence.
I’ll sum it up by saying that, in my opinion, computers won’t take over the world since we are Allah Subhan Wa Ta’la’s best creation and nothing better or resembling the human brain has ever been made.
In addition, research has established that although computers will be quicker than people, they will never match their intelligence. This means that people will always benefit from technology but will never allow it to surpass them. AI will always be reliant on the code provided by human resources and will be the technology for more business and faster tasks.
